What’s not to like about the new J.J. Abrams directed Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens? In my opinion it’s absolutely perfect, blending a familiar story with likable characters and stellar special effects. It is by no surprise then, that we couldn’t wait to get our hands on the toy versions of the characters we came to enjoy. Hasbro provided us with a huge sampling from the Star Wars universe to tear into and create our own epic adventures, but don’t fret, the opinions are our own.
Among the booty came 3.75″ action figures of Imperial and Rebel characters, along with a sweet snowspeeder and y-wing bomber. The quality is pretty much everything you expect from Hasbro and the playtime is endless. But our favorite toys in the bunch were the Hero Mashers version of Storm Trooper and his leader The Inquisitor. We’ve played with the Super Hero Mashers in the past, which makes things interchangeable, but the best part is just creating unique action heroes for new stories to explore.
My favorite of course, Star Wars Micro Machines, brought me back to my Texas childhood. Us boys in the Lone Star State never could get enough “machines” each summer. I can see that fascination building within my boys. It’s pretty exciting.
Last, but certainly not least is Furbacca, which supplants the traditional Furby with that that looks and sounds like Chewbacca. I had a Furby and thought he was the cutest thing ever, but Furbacca is tens times better. He dances around and sings tunes from the movies and you can interact with him through a dedicated app on your smart phone. He is our RV mascot and we absolutely adore him!
