Automotive pump-gasoline could be ruining your expensive outdoor power equipment.
These identifiers lead to the inevitable “changing of the guard.” I wheel my overworked snow blower out to the shed and beginning removing the dust from my prized lawn care machines. Trust me – it’s much more fun than it sounds. I love this time of year and I love having a yard that makes neighbors green with envy.
Last year I happened upon a product that added convenience and peace of mind when running my expensive trimmer and blower. That product is called TRUFUEL®. It costs slightly more than regular gasoline, but having healthy equipment will save cash (and a headache) over the long term.
What is TRUFUEL?
TRUFUEL® is precision-engineered premixed fuel with synthetic lubricants and advanced stabilizers that are specially made for 2-cycle and 4-cycle outdoor power equipment. The high-octane ethanol-free fuel protects, saves time, and helps equipment run the way it needs to. It is premixed, so there is no need to bother with the measuring and mixing of fuel and oil. TRUFUEL® has a shelf life of 5 years and will not separate and damage equipment during off seasons.
Why use TRUFUEL?
Pumping gas to use on home and lawn equipment damages the small engines because of the ethanol that is left behind. Gas station gas and oils separate over time and leave behind these harmful particles, making what seemed like a frugal decision actually much more expensive.

Now that you’re properly equipped to tackle that yard, allow me to offer a few tips that have served my lawn well!
- Always use your power equipment in its best running condition, including ensuring your lawnmower blades are extra sharp. Grass grows faster when it is “cut” not “ripped” from dull blades.
- Be sure to “change-up” your cutting path each week so that grass grows straight instead of laying to one direction.
- Don’t cut wet grass.
- Invest in a trimmer with interchangeable attachments. Use an edger attachment to square the edges for a professional precision look.
- Keep your equipment running healthy by using TRUFUEL® whenever possible.
