Target Stores to Eliminate Gender-based Signage
Building sets advertised as girls-only or the pink backgrounds of some aisles have always excluded my three boys from enjoying the offerings.
Psst…Metro Times…How not to treat parents.
Michael Jackman has a problem. You see, when it comes to Flower Day at Detroit’s Eastern Market, strollers are an undeniable, inexcusable nuisance. Moms and dads without the physical capability (or desire) for hours-long baby-wearing, just don’t belong among everyone else in search of spectacular garden deals. Listen, I’m no stroller jockey. I find it much easier to get around …
WWE’s John Cena is proof real life Superheroes exist
Hustle. Loyalty. Respect. John Cena’s mantra and character are that of those spandex-clad, butt-kicking heroes from your favorite comic books.

Vasectomy sounds terrifying as it is, but during my research I stumbled upon an image even more incredibly disturbing. It’s called Vasalgel and it’s the future of male birth control.

Selfies Attack! How a Student Broke a 19th Century Statue in Italy
I don’t know why this story affects me the way it does. Perhaps it’s the disrespect and utter lack of common decency. Maybe the damage caused by such a narcissistic, selfish act is rubbing me wrong. More importantly, it got me thinking about my parenting choices and its effect on my 5 year-old son’s “decent-human-being” trajectory. On March 18th 2014, …
Monsters Can Be Role Models Too
I am super stoked Asher has taken to automotive drivers the way he has. These athlete’s give everything to ensure fans are entertained at every race. Dennis Anderson, perhaps the most well-known and popular driver in the sport of Monster Trucks, drives the World famous Grave Digger, a 1950 Chevy Panel Van with a signature graveyard paint scheme. Anderson and Grave Digger have made a career of forwarding the sport of Monster Trucks and providing safe and exciting fun for families. He’s been doing this for over 30 years. He is a family man and even competes against his sons, Ryan (Son-uva Digger) and Adam (Grave Digger the Legend). Asher met with Dennis Anderson for an autograph and photo during his stop here in Detroit. The experience was very fulfilling and will be carried with Asher for years. It is Dennis’s dedication and the example he sets on and off the track that make him a great role model.

In between folding laundry, changing diapers and teaching letter sounds, stay-at-home parenting affords fleeting moments of reflection. Every once in a while I ponder about life after staying home. I was one of those 6-year college students that never committed to a major and quit because of work and finances….life eventually caught up to me. Probably worst of all, I lacked ambition. Today is different. I have a beautiful, successful wife and two super-active boys. I am fortunate. But will this lifestyle be sustainable, or even necessary when the kids run off to school?
